# I just bought this Tropical Fern from Safeway, is there anything…

I just bought this Tropical Fern from Safeway, is there anything wrong with it? Why is there black stuff on the stems? Is that normal? It looks under watered too is my assumption.

Definitely needs more water, poor thing must have been through hell. I’m sure it’s going to be happy now 😊

Yeah, you can’t trust Safeway not to abuse a plant. Give that poor thirsty little thing a drink and she’ll perk right up. I can’t see the black things clearly, but if it’s a fern, likely they’re just spores and nothing to worry about!
