Hey can anyone give me any advise or tips on my monstera? And supporting it,

She's about a year or so old?
Lives in my kitchen so she's near the big window I added the moss pole and little green plant tape about a month ago as the she was looking a little wonky without it 🥴 but I would just like some assurance that I've done it right as I'm a new plant parent

Here's a "360" of my plant for reference
🌱 I did notice a few new leaf sprouts!

She is pretty and the pole looks great! Just one little thing, you might wanna free one of the new sprouts out of the tie☺️

Thank you! I'll shuffle the ties further down to the bottom to free up the little sprouts

She looks great! Just a couple notes on getting the most from the pole:

Monstera have a front and a back. The back is where the aerial roots come out (little brown nubs near the base of the petioles.) You want the pole to run along the back.

You also want to anchor the plant to the pole by the stem, not the petioles. The petioles are those long shoots that end in a leaf. So you’ll use the tape more at the base of the plant. That way new growth will be supported without being trapped or constricted.

Good job getting her a support; I’m sure she’ll be very happy with you 😊

I was going to say something similar 🪴✨

On the second photo, you have your plant tape right on the leaf growth. I’d recommend lowering that to prevent leaf damage as new leaves are delicate.

Do not mist new leaves. They will leave permanent brown/black spots.

I thought I had found the back of her I'd heard rhis before of TikTok I've moved the pole but she looks wonky?

It looks okay to me but I would move it as close to the window as you can! Your area looks a bit dark. Monstera love light! They can even be acclimated to direct sun

This is as close to a window as she can get, I live in a top floor flat so it's all skylight windows, I have one windowsill she was there when I first got her but she went brown / had no growth (she was in a smaller pot then) but I'm also scared she will tip off the windowsill if she become to leaning / top heavy

\- this is the window space I'm referring to

Potential new home ? I'm scared she will fall off the windowsill 😂

Would the light be able to reach the top of the pot at least sometimes?

#### Sophie92 antwortete am 2024-04-14

Potentially? I'd have to leave her there and see in the morning
