# Seymour, my sedum, is a beast! I’m trying to figure out what to do…

_Lagt ut av abitofbrit den 2025-10-27_

Seymour, my sedum, is a beast! I’m trying to figure out what to do with him. He’s been on my kitchen window sill with 4 other plants, but he’s grown so big that the others barely have room. 😂 He’s really handsome, though!

PS: Added his baby picture from Feb 2021… when Seymour was a “Sey-less” 🥹

what about pruning back? i’ve done that on mine - you can plant the cutting and it will encourage the main plant to produce more side shoots - looks great as it is though!!

That’s definitely an option! His petals root and grow like crazy if they fall off and I plant them, so I’d imagine his cuttings would do the same. (You can kinda see mini Seymours in the planter in the second pic. 😆)

Do you put the cutting in water to let it root first before planting it? I have one growing out of control

I don’t. I literally just stick them right in the soil next to him, and they take root. Here’s a better look of all his minis inside his pot. ☺️
