I’m ready to give up on moss poles. I use a watering bulb on them. Which is a mess to just get positioned correctly without water dripping everywhere. Another poster used plastic cups with holes in it on the top of the pole. Sounds like a great idea but don’t know if I want to try it at this point. I have Treleaf trellises on a few plants. They look great but have not had long to know if the plants will attach to them. The company said they will and without misting the trellis. I’m too the point of wanting to get rid of the plants with poles. This part is a chore and not a fun hobby. Besides the pic plants I have a Cebu Blue that is even larger. Guess I’m just venting and in the process of deciding what to do. Tomorrow I may have totally different attitude towards it all .

I completely understand. I have a couple outgrowing me to quickly! But at least you know you're doing something right! Your plant babies are healthy! Why not keep cutting and propagating so you can keep them low And gift them to your plants friends.

Yes that would be another choice. Keeping them in reasonable size. Sounds like something to think about.

You know what, this is sounding good to me. Take out the moss poles, trim back the long stems. Wind them around in the pot some to make them look full. Let them trail over the sides a bit. I can picture this. They can stay in same planters because their root systems are large enough. Thank you Sarah. Seems like a simple solution but just wasn’t in my radar. I was thinking all or nothing.

Glad I could help.

They are done. Pole removed and haircuts for all three.

Phil you’ve help me many times before so I feel that it’s only fair for me to give you a boost. As more of a beginner I would say that if it doesn’t make you happy, or you dread it in any way it’s no longer a fun and enjoyable hobby. You most likely started this because it made you happy, so if it’s not beneficial than I would say do what’s best for YOU! Hope you figure it out friend!
P.S. this confirmed my fear of moss poles so thank you!

I got rid of all my pothos plants because they started to feel like work. Grew too fast even when I never repotted. Leaves dropped like crazy in winter when I brought them inside. There was not enough lighting to cover all the leaves. I wasn’t interested in investing in a lot more grow lights. I have no room for tall poles or extra long plants. Gave away many. I chopped the length to manageable sizes of the scindapus and heartleaf philodendrons I kept. 🪴🍀
