Somehow it survived in a tiny mason jar with no drainage by my kitchen sink. I only realized what it was this past summer when I got into plants. I repotted it and put it in a better spot and I think it’s doubled if not tripled in size! First plant I ever bought, probably in general but I know for sure, first plant for my office. When I started 10 years ago I wanted a plant, and it was advertised as ‘great for the office’ and a ‘plant of steel’. I was sold! Now that one plant has made multiple plants! #### Morgan Picillo 🖤 🌿 ha respondido el 2026-01-09 This is awesome! They really are such great plants 💚 ### Buffy a commenté le 2026-01-09 My blooming gardenia! Failed many times with these! #### Morgan Picillo 🖤 🌿 ha respondido el 2026-01-09 That sweet smell of gardenia 🥰 One of my faves! ### abitofbrit a commenté le 2026-01-09 My oxalis for nostalgic and sentimental reasons. I had a small bed of these growing in my backyard when I first moved into my home, but four big dogs later, they’re almost nonexistent. I decided to try and “save” a couple by bringing them inside, and they flourished! One of my dogs in particular used to dig them up. He’s since crossed the rainbow bridge, and every time I look at them, I think of him. 🌈❤️ ![Pièce jointe 1 sur 1](https://images.getplanta.com/v1/resize/17SrAqQj8OyNFHAybODfewSCnqbgQBEM__0Czrcugaw/nEw_VLIuR8Osnr09iYQhNQ.webp?size=large) #### Buffy ha respondido el 2026-01-09 That is a sweet story! It was originally bigger, got scale, got neglected, got some kind of fungus... And then somehow still responded to my desperate attempts to save it and is doing great. It was a gift from my dad, and one of few houseplants I didn't lose in a rough move. It genuinely brought me so much joy to see it come back to life, and I check on it every single day now. ![Pièce jointe 1 sur 1](https://images.getplanta.com/v1/resize/537cdX4GHvqKnbj4AghvAOgit0rxe0FJJj23EkJP2fc/5UfHnckpTGimosie_XRsGA.webp?size=large) #### Rhus ha respondido el 2026-01-09 For context, here's when I thought it was a goner ![Pièce jointe 1 sur 1](https://images.getplanta.com/v1/resize/537cdX4GHvqKnbj4AghvAOgit0rxe0FJJj23EkJP2fc/xVFgLJzTQFupLbjvLqAJXA.webp?size=large) #### Buffy ha respondido el 2026-01-09 It looks so healthy now! Good save🪴 #### Morgan Picillo 🖤 🌿 ha respondido el 2026-01-09 It looks amazing now 😍 Sometimes persistence really pays off! ### Waspinator a commenté le 2026-01-09 My african violet and ficuses helped me by toughing it out with me through a hard time. My mom's philodendron has really helped support her emotionally and get her back into plant care, and a pair of bromeliads, a pinguicula, and a jewel orchid were all wonderfully generous gifts from an orchid society member. I'm thankful for all my plants, but those have stood out recently #### Buffy ha respondido el 2026-01-09 Plants really do ground a person in what really matters.. makes you feel peaceful and capable(at least most of the time😉). I have never heard of a pinguicula before. 🪴 #### Morgan Picillo 🖤 🌿 ha respondido el 2026-01-09 I love this 💚 and 100% agree with Buffy ☝🏻 ### loccednwla a commenté le 2026-01-09 Chase puts a smile on my face everyday 🥰 ![Pièce jointe 1 sur 1](https://images.getplanta.com/v1/resize/_2356nupCTeQqwWvsz4zwSgnZvozv0LFwRxbIpN27fA/nYcGokrORWucgn37w1aeeQ.webp?size=large) #### Morgan Picillo 🖤 🌿 ha respondido el 2026-01-09 Oh my gosh I see why 😍 ### MattL a commenté le 2026-01-09 You know, this Hoya “Sunrise” is the only plant of mine that survived the cross-country move. I thought it was gonna give up the ghost and it didn’t in the end. It’s trying to flower now! ![Pièce jointe 1 sur 1](https://images.getplanta.com/v1/resize/kB_vNslITYiEEhKexo-FhuY3jFaLvKj-8_vu6VP3Gx8/tx1gk4RCTYyAg2AbODacQA.webp?size=large) #### Buffy ha respondido el 2026-01-10 Love these Hoya leaves! --- _La communauté Planta (https://getplanta.com).
