I have what I… _Publié par Tim le 2026-03-04_ Well, I’ve just encountered my first infestation. I have what I believe are spider mites on my Lucky Lady plant. I put on some cotton gloves, wet them, then wiped down each leaf, trying to physically destroy as many as possible. Then I sprayed it thoroughly with a 50/50 alcohol water solution. I’m getting some neem oil today. Just want to add that I have conquered spider mites without repotting or spraying the roots down, which could add extra stress to your plant. As a point of reference, look up the spider mite videos on youtube by Tanner the Planter. He and his wife playfully note that the typical forum advice by plant hobbyists is to repot, which they compare to getting a lobotomy prescribed for a headache 😆 Don’t panic, you’ve got this! ### SJ a commenté le 2026-03-04 So far, just a full wipe down and neem oil every 3-5 days has done the trick. ### Sara a commenté le 2026-03-04 I don’t repot. I spray with straight alcohol every day until they are gone. Keep it out of sun or grow lights until dry after spraying. #### Tim ha respondido el 2026-03-07 Hi-really? 100% alcohol? #### Sara ha respondido el 2026-03-07 I use it straight from the bottle, I believe it’s a 70% mixture sold in the stores. I just add it to a spray bottle and spray everywhere on the plant. Theres a plant shop on Instagram that always posts about this being her pest control method and I tried it and it works amazing. No damage to the plants and after a few days the spider mites I had were gone. I use a digital microscope to check the plant and can’t see anything. ### J. Gibson a commenté le 2026-03-05 Same thing happened with mine. I sprayed it with 70% alcohol and wiped down the crevices with qtips. So far things have been working 💪 ### AudPod a commenté le 2026-03-05 I’ve had success giving the plant a good shower first then a wipe/spray with alcohol once it dries. They hate moisture so if your plant tolerates misting you can spray for maintenance (or use one specific for keeping pests at bay) or keep a humidifier nearby.
