# Bought this beautiful Philodendron a few month back but the leaves…

Bought this beautiful Philodendron a few month back but the leaves are yellowing/browning. Any ideas on why this might be?

I may have had it in the wrong room, as it had no direct sunlight.

Watering in line with the app so no problems there.

Any help is much appreciated!

Just an FYI, the app is a reminder and not always correct. Soil needs to be checked before watering.

Appreciate that Phil, I always check the soil with my finger before I water any of my plants.

Not sure who said no direct light for these, but they prefer a lot of sun indoors, so try more light

Thanks. I do think this is most probable as I’ve not had it near a south facing window.

Are you emptying the water out of the dish or letting it sit there? I think it’s over watered

Thanks Han. I’ve never left any water sit in the dish before, and always check the soil before watering any plant.

Here’s my credentials. I’d agree with needing more light. They don’t like much direct sun, but bright indirect light is ideal. It would probably appreciate some humidity too.
