# My best friend just got me this syngonium as a maid of honor gift and…

My best friend just got me this syngonium as a maid of honor gift and I think it’s a white butterfly??? Anyway, this is my first syngonium and I can’t tell if I should put her as a hanging plant or not… any suggestions for her to be her best self? I’d greatly appreciate it!!

I’ve grown these in a basket and they are beautiful. I’m currently growing one in a stand alone pot and the same is true. She is beautiful!

I think it would be good to put it in a hanging basket. Im no expert but I believe your plant is probably gonna vine witch would be beautiful for a hanging plant

I put chopsticks in mine to grab on to but it still is all over the place lol so yeah try the hanging basket. Probably be fun!!

They do well dangling or climbing a pole. The leaves will mature to their split leaf forms while climbing a pole. They climb moss, coco coir or wood while potted. Mine are in wide hanging baskets. But, I don’t hang them. Both photos are my plant three months apart. They stay upright very well without a pole. There are about 10 to 15 individual plants in the pot 🪴🍀

If I hang it do I have to worry about it getting too tall?

No need to worry about height unless you train it to climb. The vines will dangle off the rim of the pot when they get long enough.
