Is this pot too big? This is my white princess and I bought her as is back in September. She's barely grown, hasn't attached to the pole at all, grows small leaves, and lost 2 original large leaves in this 9" pot. My pink princess is in a smaller pot about 4" and thriving with large leaves

yes this pot is definitely too big but it’s okay! just downsize to a pot about 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball

Actually since we're in the cold season the pot pry wouldn't have to be any bigger than the root ball, but then you'd pry want to repot in spring

Philodendron will not attach themselves to poles. They need to be attached with ties velcro tape or pins until they start forming aerial roots, which is how they attach themselves to trees in the wild. These coco-coir poles are great to attach plants too for stability and climbers. but they wont offer water and rooting areas like a true moss pole would, with the larger leaf growth. If that was what you were looking to do. You can resize the pot, or just make sure you're watering the base of the plant well. I have a few philodendron in oversized pots because they have climbing poles, and they'd tip in a smaller one. I just make an indentation around the plant base to kind of funnel water that way.
