The entire… _Posted by Madderdebs on 2024-02-02_ This a PSA regarding an Etsy seller “The Golden Greenery”. The entire saga is too long but the cliff notes version, plant arrived damaged, seller offered refund, after over a week with no update I advised would be happy with a replacement. They agreed but kept gaslighting me as to when it would be sent.. so I said I would like a refund..this has been ongoing since August 28. Now they ignore me because it’s past time to open a case with Etsy. There are many excellent and ethical sellers on Etsy, but not this one. ## 10 comments ### Sunny commented on 2024-02-02 You are very patient. I also try to resolve issues with the seller before filing an Etsy claim. I have only one incident where I couldn’t wait for Etsy to open the time for filing. That seller sent me a wishlist plant that had scissors’ cut on most leaves. They packed it in three layers of airtight plastic. The plant was steamed like asparagus on arrival with most leaves wilting and already fallen. I asked for my money back and was called a thief, was told I was fraudulent trying to get free money! That was last summer. The plant just started to put out new leaves in December. Of course, I got back my money from Etsy because I had photos before and after opening the package. 🙂 ### SamL commented on 2024-02-02 Make sure you leave a review. ### Madderdebs commented on 2024-02-02 I did leave a one star review and told him I would share my experience with others in plant communities.. there’s an abundance of sellers on Etsy, most good and ethical sellers.. no need to deal with riff raff ### Mullein commented on 2024-02-02 Ugh that’s so frustrating. Idk why some sellers think they’ll be successful long term if they mess around with people. I wonder if it’s worth contacting Etsy anyways and see if they’ll listen to how the seller strung you along until the case window was closed #### Mullein replied on 2024-02-02 Also, not me going to the page to read all the bad review tea lol ☕️ I think my biggest complaint with Etsy is how they hide bad reviews. Every other major online shop lets you sort reviews by lowest to highest rating. They kind of protect their sellers from bad reviews, for better or for worse #### Madderdebs replied on 2024-02-02 I’ve searched and can’t find a way to contact Etsy.. unless I missed it.. I will go back and search. I’ve given up on any kind of resolution but hopefully others won’t get ripped off by this guy #### Mullein replied on 2024-02-02 Ugh. I hope so too ### Plant Father commented on 2024-02-02 i’ve heard really awful things about this shop actually, especially when it comes to pests, damaged plants, and bad customer service. they also unfortunately steal people’s photos from instagram for listings (see the hoya heuschkeliana listing compared to @urbanjungling’s h. hueschkeliana). i hope you’re able to resolve things. i honestly believe their shop should be taken down #### Plant Father replied on 2024-02-02 there’s three shops that all have the same 2-plant policy and disappointing reviews and i think they’re all connected to be honest. so beware of Golden Greenery Co, the Green Escape, and Sunshine Greens ### Mads commented on 2024-02-02 Thank you for letting us know!
