# Hello all! I just came into the possession of a Zebrina Purple…

_Lagt ut av 🌿ugie den 2026-02-02_

Hello all!
I just came into the possession of a Zebrina Purple tradescantia from one of my parents and I was wondering if it would be safe to pot her with my Purple Puma tradescantia?
I've heard that some people can safely make "franken-plants" with their different pothos variegations and whatnot and thought I'd ask if I could do the same with my tradescantias!
Any thoughts or suggestions?

The only big issue I can think of is growth rate—or maybe light need. If one grows significantly faster than the other, the roots might get choked out of the other. If one of them is more sensitive to light than the other, each might fail in the other’s best spot. Maybe you could do a small experiment pot with a cutting or rooted stem from each? See how they fair?
