I need some advice from people who live in cold climates! I just moved from Seattle to Boston and most of my plants died on the way. I don’t want to lose the ones that survived, but they started drooping and I wondered if maybe being near the window in January was too much.

So I moved them “inland,” but then they’re near the heater. I’ve added a humidifier, but jeez, I’m worried about them! Any advice?

What soil is the best soil to use for house plants?

You'll get more answers if you do an actual post. I use a regular houseplant potting soil and add perlite and bark.

I’d invest in to grow lights and maybe move them if they are sitting directly in front of a window if it’s cold

Okay I’ll get them fixed up nice and warm and bright and see if they perk up!

I live in WA, it's been 27-22 at night here lately. I've had to pull a few plants away from the windows, but most do okay. The ones i pull away i put under grow lights, and they get misted. Do you have a hygrometer to check your humidity? Depending on the plant, mine do fine with 1 or 2x mist a day. If I've had the heaters on a lot the humidifier clicks on to bring it back up to mid 50s at least

I think I’m dealing with two things at the same time—(1) plants recovering from the stress of being frozen and in the dark for a week while the USPS unsuccessfully tried to find my apartment and (2) a little cold and dryness that maybe plants in better shape would just roll with. So maybe I’ll just pull them away for the window for a week or two and humidify while they recover and then try putting them back and seeing if they buck up? What do you think?

That sounds like a good idea. When they've been trapped in shipping for a long time, I try to slowly readjust them to light again too. They can get scorched if I just pop them under a long growlight
