This is my 5 year old white birds of paradise!
I brought it during my second year of university from IKEA and for some reason or another we’ve been getting along ever since.

It looks a bit beaten up because it’s moved house a fair few times but to be honest I’m completely clueless to whether or not it’s happy and healthy.

The long leaf stem has been growing for around a year and has finally started to unravel. There’s a shorter one at the back which I believe will grow even taller.

It’s around 2.6 meters tall, lives in my living room next to moderately lit window. I repotted it for the first time a couple months ago and I can already see the benefits from doing so.

If anyone has any tips or suggestions on how to maintain it or how to keep it healthy that would be greatly appreciated. Also I’d just like to know if it’s happy or not.

Thank you! :)

More light! These plants sit outside in the full sun and love it. Fertilize in the spring and summer months. You saw it perk up because the new soil had nutrients it's been craving. It'll eat through them in no time.
