I rescued a few plants from going to the land fill and I know what most of them are, but this one is stumping me. Is it an ardisia? Planted thinks it’s an ardisia but my friend’s app thinks it’s a money tree. It doesn’t look quite like a money tree’s trunk, so that’s why I’m thinking an ardisia or a dwarf umbrella plant? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Looks like a Money Tree to me too.

The leaves look like money tree leaves. The trunks are often braided so maybe if they weren’t, this is what they look like on their own?

It could be an ardisia based on the leaves and the skinny stems from base to tip. Money trees have a thicker base. Ardisia flowers and puts out berries. 🪴

Agreed! I had an ardisia (aka shoebutton) and the plant pictured in this post looks just like it!
