Think I got a corm growing from my Alocasia dark star 😁. On my other Alocasia’s they normally just grow up, this one seems to grow across, this wasn’t there this morning, popped through after watering.

I think it is a rhizome, it’s like a corm but grows horizontally.

Just had a look what that is, grows longways and then grows its own roots down from it, then new leaves grow up from it from what I read, I’m assuming I should maybe put a small amount of soil over it, as has diatomaceous earth on top, or should I leave as is. Think that’s what my Alocasia zebrina has, see pic

That looks more like an aerial root.
