# Are my Pothos OK? These two are my first. Purchased just 2 weeks ago…

Are my Pothos OK?

These two are my first. Purchased just 2 weeks ago specifically for this planter. It doesn't get any natural light so I'd been using a clip on (see pic 2.)

But I noticed that the Neon's stems (the Golden too but not as noticeable) were getting taller as if it was desperately pushing up for light. I since bought a more powerful light that I can shine on both from the side.

Is this normal?

I definitely don't want to kill them but I'm also not a fan of how they're looking. I bought them to be bushy \& vining not erect like a ficus or peace lily.

They look healthy and beautiful. Pothos are very forgiving so don’t worry too much. Just don’t overwater, that grow light they will love, just make sure you keep it high enough so it doesn’t scorch your leaves

Thank you! I prolly am worrying too much. Am gonna see how it goes with the new light \& if they look pretty much the same will probably go back to clip on as it was a really easy/low profile option.

They will eventually begin to vine as they continue to grow more aerial roots just be patient and give plant food

The clip on looks to be a Sansi 5 watt clip on. They are great lights but you need something stronger when there is no natural light. Upgrade to two Sansi 10 watts should he good for those plants. But for now they are looking good.

The problem with the bigger clip ons is the weight. The planter is attached with just 2 screws so I don't wanna risk it.

I bought a 2ft Barrina T10 which I have bolstered by a box on the top of my desk. It's definitely a more powerful light source but the set up is far clunkier.

As I said in my other reply, unless it makes a big difference in growth I'm prolly going to trade off for the lower profile option.

Oh…I see your dilemma.

Well that is a good light. Closer would be better if possible. I have many lights. I’ll think it thru for better idea.

Wow I am obsessed with your little “green room” / plant room!! Love it 🤩

I chanced it \& bought one 10 watt \& it does give more coverage. Putting a second on would prolly be pushing it. Also the T10 wasn't working because it faces the middle of the room and it was hurting my eyes. I might use it a few days a week when I won't be home but I think the 10 watt is gonna have to suffice.
