This ZZ plant was in my living room, so
I transplanted it, and moved it to my bedroom.
It was fine, 2 weeks ago I checked and it was still green and growing a new shoot.
Today I checked and the main plant leaves are turning yellow!
Is the plant going to die?
What should I do to improve Zelda’s condition?

Has the light direction changed with the moved? Is it getting the same amount of light it was getting? Does it need fertilizer? Is it getting too much water?

The light changed,
I have growing lights in The living room, while here is receiving sunlight that goes into the window of the bedroom. Water and fertilizer have been on schedule.

You probably will lose the yellowing stem, but given it has new growth, I think it will be ok.

I started a zz stem cutting this summer in water, after it formed a rhizome I potted it. It then lost the stem. It had no leaves or stem, just the rhizome under the soil. I just kept watering it when the soil was dry and kept it in a sunny spot. It took months, but it sprouted….

Just don’t overwater, make sure you only water when the soil is dry.

Thanks!

It uses less water if it’s getting less light. ZZs are good at holding water in its roots. Don’t water on an old schedule. Water when the soil dries out. This means verifying the soil is dry before watering. 🪴🍀
