# Is this a neon pothos or a lemon lime heart leaf philodendron? It was…

Is this a neon pothos or a lemon lime heart leaf philodendron? It was labeled as a neon pothos, but I have had pothos for years, and this one doesn’t seem to require the same kind of care. I also noticed some pink around the new growth. I thought maybe root rot, but it’s in a mix of soil and perlite and I am pretty sure I don’t overwater it. The pink is only around the new growth. It’s been a tricky one for me to figure out how to care for. Thanks!

I would say lemon lime philo because of the variegation on the leaf.

Neon pothos can have variegation too, but it looks different.

It’s a philodendron. They have smooth vines. Pothos vines are never smooth. They look ribbed.

Thanks everyone! At first I thought it was just juvenile or I was overwatering it, but now that it’s getting older and I have more pothos varieties, it’s really obvious it’s not a pothos. At least I didn’t kill it! Happy from my local nursery to open soon so I can stop buying plants from Home Depot!

I have the same plant and have noticed everything you mentioned with mine as well! It’s a hear leaf philodendron!
