Hello!

I’m a fairly inexperienced ZZ plant owner and have had a weird time with mine. My ZZ didn’t grow for about a year and seemed like it was dying but now suddenly there’s a new leaf. The only change is that I moved it from a place of medium sunlight to having hardly any sunlight and that was at least 6 months ago. Does anyone know what happened?

Sometimes a lot of light is not great for zzs. Keep it in that spot as it looks like a perfect home for your zz! Hope this helps!!

ZZ's are definitely slow growers but in my opinion the more light the better. I'm not saying full sun but definitely not in a dark corner. Also ZZ's don't require watering as much as planta recommends. I water mine about every 2 months or less. Even if the soil is dry ZZ'S store water in their rhizomes. So when you think it might need water, hold off a while longer. 😊
