Hello everyone!🎉🥳
I purchased these beauties yesterday. I got paranoid bc I saw some thrips and fungus gnats in some of the other plants at the store so when I got home I got straight to work! I know it’s not recommended to repot plants during the winter but I just had to make sure that they were cleaned and healthy so they could flourish!
I took all of their dirt out and cleaned the roots with the shower head, made a diluted mixture of dawn and Luke warm water and soaked the leaves for about 5-10 mins. I then rinsed off the leaves making sure all the water mixture or any insects I couldn’t see were now rinsed off. I scrubbed the pots they were originally in with soap and hot water and used new dirt for both and repotted them in their original pots and then bottom watered both. After all of that I wiped down the leaves with a clean cloth (top and bottom) and then treated them with my need oil. Took about 2 hours😮‍💨
Anywho, I got SO many babies from them and now I’m trying different propagation methods hoping to see some healthy growth! So excited to take care of my plants and so thankful to have so many of you to learn from!💗

Amazon or a local plant store should have gnat traps. I have some and they’re wonderful to me!

Thank you!! I haven’t seen anything on my plants yet even when I went through the original dirt but if I do end up seeing them I’ll have to check that out!

Nice work. Beautiful plants! I would treat the foliage with neem once a week for about a month. I recently learned that thrips lay eggs INSIDE the leaves, so they can’t be removed by washing. Which explains why it took me so long to finally conquer them \*knock on wood\*
