When plants need distilled water and not tap, would it be alright to use reverse osmosis? Ex. dragon tree and heart leaf philodendron.

Calathea and carnivorous plants for sure. I think all benefit from it TBH.

I use RO water for all my plants. They love it.

What kind of system do you have?

We have had a Kinetico system for many years. Only problem is with the number of plants I have, plus all the humidifiers I use, I go through a LOT of water.  
So I bought for of those big five-gallon plastic water jugs and I fill them at a Culligan RO place down the road from us. It’s only $1.50/five gallon jug. Then I bring those big boys home and transfer the water to my one gallon jugs as needed. Kinda a pain in the backside. But…the RO filters for our system are pretty expensive. So I guess it’s cheaper.  
What we do for the love of our plants…

I keep meaning to put together a rain barrel system. But just haven’t done it. 🫣
