Hi! Very new plant mama here. I have several plants ranging from pothos to bamboo to palm to zz to Swiss cheese and a few more. Is there an add in fertilizer that can be used for all species or does it need to be specific. I’ve never put anything on my plants other than water. I have no clue what I’m doing here! Thanks!!

I would recommend Osmocote’s slow-release fertilizer beads. It’s a lot easier to just place a few of them at the top of the soil and let them slowly release when you water the plant over time than trying to stick to fertilizer schedules for all of your plants at once if you’re new to fertilizing. I’m not sure if they can be used for bamboo or plants in water without soil, but they do work for a variety of plants in soil. It’s also a lot easier to control how many you’re placing into the soil without having to measure every time, and helps reduce the risk of over fertilizing. I’ve definitely seen quite a few of the nurseries around me using them and some of my plants arrived with them already in there. Hope this helps!

I concur with using Osmocote. I’ve used it for years. The beads last 6-8 months for my plants. I add fresh ones each spring or when changing the soil. It doesn’t give instant green results. A plant greens up over time. But, it doesn’t cause fertilizer burn either and you can work into the top soil or just sprinkle on top of the soil. I use diluted Miracle Gro for some plants. I use SuperThrive plant vitamins on everything

I use the super thrive and water with it every single time

For most plants I like Dr. Earth pump n grow. You'll need a few diff bottles for succulent/cactus, med/high water plants, and orchids. I grow most of my true bog and jungle plants with fish water, however if you don't have access to this, beads are great.

Any of the above work great. I rotate mine from FoxFarm. Superthrive, dr earth, elm juice, osmocote, maxsea, instant plant food, kelp, and my fish tank water. I think the only one you have that may be specialized is the palm, depending on what species they like high Phosphorus in the NPK. But it should be fine with a balanced fertilizer
