# Hi! So, I recently got into houseplants, and I’m looking to get…

_Publié par Lee le 2025-01-27_

Hi! So, I recently got into houseplants, and I’m looking to get another. I’d love to get something more colorful, like some sort of flower or flowering plant. The problem is I don’t have a lot of space, so it would have to be something small-medium and fairly manageable. Is there even something out there that would work? I’m looking for recommendations.
Thanks!

if you’re willing to go through the trouble, African violets are common and small. Bromeliads are cool as well but may be a little bigger. You could also get a non-flowering plant that has variegation, like a marbled pothos, Chinese evergreen, or monstera Thai constellation.

I have lots of plants that would fit the bill… They’re relatively small, and I think very colorful. The orangey one is a Croton. The pinkish one is a Chinese evergreen called Ruby Ray. I’ll get back to you on the other one… 🙄! I hope you like these, because I love them all!

Third plant… It’s a Chinese evergreen called Red Emerald! These Chinese evergreens are easy to care for, and as you can see, very colorful… Good luck!

a spider plant would also probably do well - the 'Bonnie' variety is typically pretty small as it maxes out at 8-10 inches. 'Ocean' also apparently stays pretty small, tho i do think most young spiders are pretty small :)
