There was a time last spring that she nearly completely defoliated; I thought she was a goner. But, with time, she replaced all of her leaves, and is looking really well. However, just recently, she started dropping leaves again… maybe three or four a day. I’m noticing that some of the leaves have darkened areas on the tips of the leaves, which you can see in the pictures. Does anybody know what’s happening to my plant; is she just neurotic, and every once in a while starts to defoliate??? Mine looked amazing, then proceeded to drop all its leaves. I was talking to someone else, and theirs recently did the same thing. A cold draft can make them drop a bunch of leaves even if it’s from an A/C vent. Not enough light and they will drop leaves or too much water or not enough water. Not enough light…hmmmm… I just made a post at the bottom of this thread, and was wondering if it might be low light that is causing my ficus to drop her leaves. I’m beginning to think that they are just “nervous Nellies“! From all the comments, it seems they will defoliate at the drop of a hat, for anything.
