# Just got this plant today and completely forgot to ask the name…

Just got this plant today and completely forgot to ask the name although i was told how to care for it can anyone tell me what it is?

It’s an alocasia. Not sure on the variety, Polly maybe

It’s an alocasia polly, I find that in soil they can get root rot if you’re not careful. I moved mine into semi hydro and it’s much happier with good roots.  
I have fine under grow lights quite strong ones but at a distance of around 40+cm. If it doesn’t get enough light it will drop leaves mine only has one but since moved getting another!!  
Also you get little corns in the soil which u can take out and put in little jar of shallow water and they will grow !!!

thank you! i have it about 3 feet from my window it looks to be getting plenty light thanks for your advice!
