# Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy almost Kwanzaa to any who…

_Pubblicato da Dax il 2024-12-25_

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy almost Kwanzaa to any who celebrate! My sister got me this plant and is it labeled Tillandsia Cyanea and the plant mom at the shop advised it is an air plant (but it is in soil?) and that I should keep it moist but not wet and in part sun part shade. But when I search that name and the pic on Planta, it comes up as Wallisia Cyanae Pink Quill, a bromeliad. Can someone help me identify and care for this beauty?

Thank you both. I’m very confused as to why a very reputable place had this plant mislabeled, in soil and possibly gave the wrong instructions. My sis could have mixed up the instructions but it is labeled incorrectly and is in soil. I’ll be very careful with it and maybe only water once a month.

Especially because the species name didn’t change, just the genus!

That's a gorgeous Bromeliad 😍!! I adore them! Plenty of indirect light and do NOT over water!! Top much water equals death for Bromeliads. I keep the "cup" full of distilled water---change about once a month to prevent stagnation. I'm old school and "water" with 4 ice cubes every 7=8 days. 🥰🤔 But that's just me and I'm still a newbie here. 🥰🤣
