# I’ve been saving up to go plant shopping for 2 weeks and I’m going…

I’ve been saving up to go plant shopping for 2 weeks and I’m going today looking for mostly herbs for my farm and if I have any cash left over I want to get a pink polka dot plant but don’t know much about them any tips are much appreciated!

Pink Polka Dot Plant  
1\. Sunlight requirements. Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Not suited for direct, afternoon sun.  
2\. Watering requirements. Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out half way down between waterings. ...

To care for a pink polka dot plant (Hypoestes phyllostachya), provide bright, indirect light, keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, and maintain high humidity through misting or a pebble tray. Light: •  
• Bright, indirect light: is ideal.  
• East or west-facing windows are good locations.  
• Intense direct sunlight can scorch leaves and fade the pink colors, so protect it from it.  
Watering:  
• Keep the soil consistently moist, watering when the top inch feels dry. o  
• Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. o  
• The plant will wilt significantly if it dries out, but it will bounce back quickly with water.  
Humidity:  
• Polka dot plants prefer a humid environment. o

• Fertilize with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer), and reduce or stop feeding in the fall and winter. o  
Pruning:  
• Pinch off the tips of the stems to promote bushier growth and prevent the plant from becoming leggy. o  
• If the plant becomes very leggy, you can cut it back by about half to encourage new, compact growth.
