Anyone know why my snake plant looks so wonky? My other one grows upright but this one has other ideas. Is that normal?

Some varieties are a lot droopier than others, and I’m pretty sure that this variety is one of those. If you don’t like the look, you can tie it up with a stake and string. It actually looks very healthy to me!

Ok, good to know! I’ll let him do his thing then. It was a piece of my original plant so I’m glad it wasn’t anything I did wrong. Thank you!

Has it been warm out? They do not like direct sunlight. They are low light plants. Maybe move it away from a place that gets direct sunlight. It’s a beautiful plant! Or maybe try to replenish the soil, check the roots, with it being outside it could have some unwanted guests…

Your plant looks pretty good to me even with the droopiness!

Drooping leaves on snake plants can actually be an indicator of not enough light. Whereas curling leaves is a better indicator of too much light.

It could also be that its roots aren’t drying out enough between waterings.

I know for sure I’m not overwatering bc I made that mistake once already. It is definitely hot -90+F every day. 🥵 I would be most inclined to to say it has too much light then. It’s not direct but is on a back porch. I’ll give it a shot. Thanks, all!

Always trust the native habitat. Snake plants grow in arid, flat areas with direct sun. It’s sold as low light, but they can totally survive in direct light as long as they have been acclimated. Does your area have high humidity or a lot of storms? I try to bring mine inside during high humidity as mine personally doesn’t like it.

Yes. Storms and high humidity on the gulf coast. I will relocate and see if that makes him happier. Thank you!
