I repotted my ZZ plant incorrectly and did not put in any perlite. How long should I wait to repot again? It’s currently in shock now but the soil is not draining correctly. When I did repot I didn’t even think about adding perlite or anything else for that matter. Just bypassed my mind at the time.

what kind of soil is it in right now? if its a regular houseplant kind of mix, i would probably wait until the next watering. if its in a chunky succulant mix, then i wouldnt worry about it.

I would go ahead and redo the repotting to a more suitable soil type. Otherwise, I would recommend waiting until the fall so it can recover in between repot events.

If it’s not right, it’s not right. Just repot it now. If it’s in regular houseplant soil and staying too wet, it’s going to kill it faster than it will “acclimate.”
