# How often does everybody water their ZZ? I was noticing the Planta…

How often does everybody water their ZZ?  
I was noticing the Planta schedule for watering. The app wants me to water at 23 days, (13 days from today) which might be ok…..except, then it wants me to fertilize dissolved in water, 6 days later.  
This strikes me as not right.  
Am I wrong in my assumption?

Your assumption is correct and it is weird how early it’s telling you to fertilize, because it should say that on the day of the scheduled day of watering to fertilize.

I fertilize with my watering, not separately. I don’t know why the app calls for it separate, unless you don’t use a water dissolving fertilizer. I water/fertilize my Zz plant about every 25-30 days

Yeah, I the liquid dissolved in water, it must be a glitch. Good thing I noticed, I sometimes just follow the schedule without thinking about it.  
I’m going to water a day early and see if it automatically adjusts itself. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah I’m sure it will, it seems like the app is a little more user friendly these days

I water my ZZ well beyond every 60 days, when she’s nearly dry. (I use the stake method to check for dryness.) She seems to tolerate that well, as none of her leaf tips have browned. She is in a 10”pot with a lot of soil. I’m not sure how large your pot is; that would make quite a bit of difference in how often you water. Hope this helps! …. 🤗💚🪴  
PS. I also had a water/fertilizing issue with Planta, not with this plant, though. However, it appears that it corrected itself. If I were you, I’d send a text off to Planta to let them know about this.

I've noticed with Planta it will glitch every now and then. Once you water, the fertilize date should change to a further date. Personally, I use Planta as more of a reminder. I usually snooze my ZZ a few times from when it first tells me to water which turns out to watering about every 4ish weeks; Now that it is getting cooler I've let it go a little longer.

Mines ever 2 weeks. It is above my wall heater though.
