My moth orchid just flowered its first flowers of the year, but they also just fell off too. I was wondering what the normal time is for flowers to stay on a plant?

Hmmm, orchids usually hold their flowers for a while. I’ve got one who flowered in october, and has since put out 3 more growth points that all have flowers, and the original is JUST starting to drop its flowers now.

Did you fertilize it recently? I’m under the impression you are to stop fertilizing while its got flowers, and then begin again once the flowers have all fallen off and the spike has died.

Anything else change recently? Repot? Different water? Cold temp? Changed location?

Orchids can stay in bloom for about 5 months
