# I’m thinking about getting a peace lily. I hear they tend to be SOOO…

_Posted by Oksana 🥎🍦🌱 on 2025-05-17_

I’m thinking about getting a peace lily. I hear they tend to be SOOO dramatic so we’ll probably be besties. Anyway, I’ve heard of semi-hydro-ing them. How do you do that?? Take the plant out and put in water for the rest of forever?

Any tips would be great!!

I have one and yes, he is dramatic and loves water. What I try to do is water him every other day during the summer (I live in Florida so it gets really hot) or once a week if it’s raining or cold.

Ok thanks! Do you think they do better in soil or semi hydro? And how do you do semi hydro

No idea what’s semi hydro lol. He’s always been in potted soil.

I have babies growing in water. They do well either way. My big girl is potted but she’s always lived like that and I don’t want to change up her pot just because she came to live with me. Mine do better in low light. If you have a fish tank… use the water that you remove during changes… it’s nutrient dense and they love that!

I don’t have a fish (my cat would want one thought) but I bet that works great
