# Hey, I plants this basil that my mom bought from the grocery store.…

Hey, I plants this basil that my mom bought from the grocery store. It was in a root ball to keep it fresh so I just separated a few groups. It recently started wilting a lot so I took the leaves off. Any way to save it or should I start over?

What's the roots looking like? They need to be whitish and firm. Anything else and it's likely dying. Good news though. Basil roots super easily. Trim a branch off and place it in water with at least one node submerged. Place on a window sill with lots of light.

The roots are fine. So I should take it out of soil and put it in water?
