# Does anyone else dislike the Dr. Planta update?😅 It used to be so…

Does anyone else dislike the Dr. Planta update?😅 It used to be so simple, just clicking yes or no about care info and such. Now I have to have a whole “conversation” which defeats the point of asking an app imo… (not to mention the water usage of AI chatbots 💔)

Just used it yesterday and it was useless. Told it I had a bonsai plant that was getting yellow leaves like crazy that were dropping all the time, and since the soil was dense and holding moisture I repotted it to an akadama mix and roots look good, now no more yellowing but getting some leaves with brown tips. Dr Planta is like yup you’re overwatering, I reply no that’s definitely not the case. So it flops to say it’s under watered, no dude that’s not it. Ok, you need to check the roots, bro I just told you the roots are fine. So it’s like, must be your water quality. Dr Planta, all due respect, why all of the sudden would my water quality be the issue for something that just started 2 weeks ago? “You’re right! Probably just shock from the repot”

Every recommendation failed to take into account the actual plant data I entered and the apps own recommendations about overwintering right now.

Good thing I have all of you to help me troubleshoot!

Even when it seems to get the recommendation correct (I had one overwatered and one underwatered issue), there is a whopping ONE task added to water. The frequency beyond that was not changed at all, so yet again it was me shoving my finger in the soil twice a day in panic in order to teach the app. Disappointing.

Oh wow, soooo helpful! I’m with you on the water/energy consumption of the AI. I’ll be protesting that function of the app. Now, if Dr Planta was more like Dr House… I may choose pretty plants over H2O and just deal with the shame lol
