those are air roots! you can put them into the soil and they will start rooting down there. means your plant is happy 😊 they are ugly but necessary lol

When the roots grow like that, they looking for stability, monsteras naturally are climbers in the wild. So roots help with that. You definitely place them into the soil but maybe add a moss pole for stability and encourage more growth upward = equal big ass leaves.
