# The app is telling me this is a Chinese evergreen. I am just curious…

The app is telling me this is a Chinese evergreen. I am just curious if I can chop the top off and propagate, and get rid of the stalk that has no leaves. I don’t know much about said plant because it was given to me by a family member.  
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!!

My roomate had one that was barely alive, I’ve been trying to prop the leaves now for weeks and they look great just no roots yet, on the other hand, the bit of stalk is doing amazing in soil and has so much new growth

I may chop it off and just see what happens. Maybe try to prop the top part and hope for the best! Thanks 😊
