Talk nice to them! Give them love, rub downs, proper sun and water, and friends. Also be patient… I have some plants that look like they’re on the edge of life for a few months at a time and then after consistent maintenance, shape ups, love and affection they come back like they rule the house…🙄  
Also, make sure your plants are appropriate for area and the place you’ve put them in your house. Think of them as the granny who refuses to sit within 7 rows of a post/pole at a theatre lol
