My ivy plant has been drying up and dying within the last couple weeks, I have been watering it once a week , and put it somewhere slightly sunnier , but it just does not want to grow? What should I do?

Check for pests if the dead leaves are progressing from the roots I'd be worried something is wrong there. It likes to constantly be damp is the soil dry
