Hi everyone! My monster adansonii is getting extremely leggy. I’ve added moss poles to accommodate the length but it’s almost reaching the ceiling. I cut off some of the ends bc I didn’t like the way it was looking. Now, I’ve got several leggy stems that I don’t just want to throw away. What is the best way to propagate the nodes? Do I cut them up into smaller pieces? Use water, soil, or something else?

I usually cut so that I have one node and leaf on each cutting. You can toss the leggy part between nodes. I put into a jar of water with the leaves out and switch the water if it starts to look cloudy. Usually roots in a few weeks!

Ya, this is how prop all members of the monstera genus.

Thank you for your help! Should I do something different with the plant in the pot? There are some leggy stems there too.

Honestly on mine when there are vines I don’t love the look of I just chop and prop them. You can tuck the new propagations into your existing plant for a more full look once they have rooted

I love that idea! Thanks again!
