Hello everyone, so I have a beautiful bird of paradise but I keep reading that you should wait for the dirt to dry out completely vs just the first 2-3 inches of the soil. I use a moisture meter and at the very bottom it reads wet, any advice on which is the best way to water? Thank you!

I let the soil dry out 75% of the way not 100% lol if that helps.

I was thinking the same, she’s about half way now but pushing two more leaves out so figured a watering was due

i’d wait until 75% too and do not water if it reads wet at all

For my BOP it does quite well watering every other time planta tells me to, usually when it’s more than 1/2 dry

Yes you can, they are just less likely to bloom
