Looks like a dracaena fragrans. Sometimes called a corn plant :-)

Agreed. Be careful not to overwater it!

If it has an inner pot inside that brown one make sure to pull it out after watering and check to make sure no standing water is in the bottom. I made this mistake and it nearly killed my plant. I also would leave mine out of the outer pot for a few days after watering.
