# Hi there ! So I got this beautiful bamboo today and each bamboo was…

Hi there ! So I got this beautiful bamboo today and each bamboo was wrapped in wire connected to the green thing in the middle was i supposed to leave the wire on ? I took about half of them off because when researching it was saying two different things ( leave wire on /take wire off) does anyone know the correct thing to do ? Plus I’m a beginner so I don’t know much about plants so any info will help😊thanks in advance!

The binds are usually to keep it together, especially if it’s a water based situation it helps them stand stronger tied up.

On the other side of that while it’s said that while they last that way sitting in water, you can pot the bamboo and it can lengthen the lifespan of your plant as well as possibly give you babies (I have potted bamboo so that’s my knowledge lol I’d probably google check me though)

it shouldn’t matter whether you leave them or take them off. they’re there to keep the shape of all the bamboo stems together. lucky bamboo is typically super easy to care for so no worries around here :D
