😭😭 HELP. I finally got a variegated SOP. And it arrived in the mail, all of the other plants were flawless as usual. (I order from this business a lot)

It’s completely mush. And this is what I’m left with. I could cry. Is there a way to propagate this? I know the string typically has nodes, however I’m kind of lacking in that department. Can pearls be propped on their own???

I think (my twin has one) you can prop from just the stem! She Keeps hers pretty wet and doesn’t let it dry out. The pattern goes away when she Lets it dry out

If you Bought it online I would definitely reach out to who you bought from and let them know thats how it came and Possibly get a replacement And or a Refund!

They really don’t do refunds. I’ve never needed one from them, but I mean I guess it’s the price you pay for shipping a living thing. Just definitely sucks. I know you can propagate with the strings, I just don’t have any of the string to work with really. So I’m just wondering if the pearls themselves can be propagated

Yes, they can. This one came from a much less variegated adult one and it was one single half-moon pearl and it has only been growing for about 2 months.

Yay! That’s such great news!! So I should just pop the stray pearls into some soil and mist or water? And any certain way to put the pearls on the soil?

I usually find the spot where it broke off from the strings and set it just slightly under the surface of the soil. Keep it wet, and just treat it like a leaf from any other succulent. It will probably put out a few shoots from the base, most of which will become roots and one or two will become stems with new pearls. It may take a month or two, so stay vigilant!

Okay! Thank you so much.
