Is this a pregnant onion? You usually see the climbing onion

I would have to agree with the Albuca bracteata, common name pregnant onion or sea onion.. And, note the little bump on the side of the bulb. I believe that is another bulb developing. Apparently they will get a lot of these little bulblets. They like very bright light, even some direct sun. As most plants prefer they like a well-drained soil. Since this is a succulent-like plant a cactus soil would be good. Although it is somewhat drought tolerant, it will be happiest given regular waterings. The same thing with fertilizer it doesn't have high demands but your growth will probably be better if you give it periodic fertilizer, maybe once a month especially when it's in bloom. It seems to like a pot that is only a little bigger than the bulb itself. So, if the bulb is 2 in across I would put it in a 4-inch pot. I listened to a YouTube about it and it said that the leaf juices are similar to aloe in that they will soothe bug bites and perhaps some other skin problems. Not long-lasting but still will relieve itchiness. Make sure you post pictures of the flowers they look really cool.
