At first when I saw white fuzz I thought oh no mealy bugs! But then zooming in it looks more like a mold? Either way I would treat it with a gentle pesticide. Whether that's a drop of neem in some rubbing alcohol or something over the counter I wouldn't wait

If you have nothing on hand even a drop of dish soap in rubbing alcohol maybe some water, shake it up lol better than nothing

To me it looks like flat mite damage. I’m new to these, as are most, but I have the same on my zig zag, and my Hindu rope. It took me forever to figure out! They are relatively new to the houseplant world, but I would dig into them, and see if it is.  
The treatment is a sulphur solution for them. I haven’t gotten it yet, so I’ve been trying 70% alcohol.

I just got this plant myself! I don’t have answers for your issue though - sorry! Has it been easy to care for otherwise?
