Does your pot have drainage holes? I’ve found that mine don’t really like to sit in water, and they really get full the closer they are to light; I have mine directly under a grow light. The bigger the pot the bigger they grow too; yours might be ready for a bigger pot.

No drainage holes, I do dump excess water out though. I have tohers that have holes that are bigger but still no good looking

Respectfully, saying that the “bigger the pot the bigger they grow” isn’t necessarily true for indoor houseplants and can actually hurt them. If a plant is in too big of a pot, the roots can’t soak up all the moisture and they rot. Also, many plants love being root bound in tighter pots and actually grow more once they’re in a smaller pot. Spider plants actually prefer to be slightly root bound. The size of the pot/planter should be no bigger than 1-2 inches of the root ball.

I was only speaking of my specific experience with spider plants, not all plants, but I appreciate you clarifying my comment.

I’d recommend more light and an appropriately sized planter (only 1-2 inches bigger than the roots) with drainage holes. Even if you dump out the excess water, not having drainage in your pot will most likely inevitably cause root rot or another overwatering issue because the soil just isn’t able to dry out in between waterings like it needs to. More light will be the biggest thing for getting a fuller looking plant.

I would agree with Madison. More light, smaller pot good drainage.

That’s mostly what mine look like too! I think just time will help it grow bigger.

My spider cutting I got from a friend is about that size. Do you need to have multiple cuttings in a pot together to get that fullness (like pothos) or will a single spider baby actually fill out more all by itself? I’m still in water prop stage so curious
