# I have a beautiful prayer plant that has been growing new leaves…

I have a beautiful prayer plant that has been growing new leaves every few days for the last few months. However, it has started to grow some brown leaves or the leaves brown more easily? New shoots are still growing and leaf production hasn’t slowed but I can’t get over all the brown. Anyone know what’s going on? Should I be concerned?

Are you watering with regular tap water? Marantas are sensitive to the lime and other minerals in water, so over time it can cause browning. Rainwater, distilled water, and reverse osmosis water are better for them. However you can also get some API Stress Coat (water softener) and put a few drops into water you use to water your plants and that should also do the trick! Its what I use.
