# I hadn’t checked on my jade in a minute and found that one of them..…

_Pubblicato da ceej il 2025-03-07_

I hadn’t checked on my jade in a minute and found that one of them.. collapsed? He’s had a few problems in the past with rotted leaves and such but nothing this bad. I’m not sure what happened and more importantly what to do. Any advice is appreciated- I’m relatively new to the plant scene but this is my longest-owned plant and I want to keep him alive :(

Looks pretty dry how often do you water

About once every two weeks (I’ve had overwatering issues in the past)

Maybe water with a bit of Silica? It seems to have helped with a few of my plants. @Wolfen

the pot looks a bit big for these small plants, i would repot into something with draining thats 1-2 inches bigger than the roots, using a chunky succulant/cactus mix! also make sure to water only when the pot is fully dry!!
if the base of the plant that fell over is mushy, chop off the parts that are rotted until the cut is healthy - firm and should be whitish in color. let this callus over, then you can take off a few of the lower leaves, and plant it with the other one - itll grow roots eventually!
if its dried and shriveled, the same thing applies to what was said with rot :)
hope this helps!

I agree. The pot is too big. That much soil to hold moisture leads to overwatering and root rot for small root systems. Jades are pretty drought tolerant and don’t do well in soggy soil.

Just repotted in a smaller pot (with drainage), took the healthy plant fully and salvaged the bits of the collapsed one that had already begun to grow independently. Thank you all!
