# Bought my first Anthurium (Crystallinum) in Dec. The minute after…

Bought my first Anthurium (Crystallinum) in Dec. The minute after clicking BUY I realized the folly of purchasing a tropical plant -by mail-in the dead of winter. She arrived looking rough, despite adding a heat pack. She only got worse from there. After about a month I realized I could kill her stem by stem or try cutting her back \& putting stems in moss/perlite prop boxes \& hope for the best.

Well, it worked. These are not even all the stems that are thriving. I have another one in soil \& 2 small plastic containers with multiple stems showing growth.

Moral of the story, moss/perlite prop boxes save lives. 🙌🏼

PS: These are in chunky soil with 50% perlite/moss in a self watering pot in my "greenhouse" (plastic display boxes) in a south facing window.
