# Bought this Dieffenbachia off Facebook marketplace and noticed this…

Bought this Dieffenbachia off Facebook marketplace and noticed this one stem has sort of a crack in it as the lady had been supporting one of the lower less perky stems on top of it.

I’m a newbie so not sure if I can let it be or if I should cut it!

It may be okay. You could slide a piece of plastic or paper straw lengthwise and slide it over for the two pieces to be stable and they may mend. This dief looks healthy! Eventually they do like/need things to lean on or be propped up as they’re a plant that gets a long “trunk” fairly quickly :)
